This is a great job for a suitably experienced Superyacht Chief Officer who has sufficient experience on yachts over 80m and possibly Passenger/Cruise ships – although it will be necessary to have some experience in the Superyacht industry and not only cruise ships. You’ll need excellent multi-cultural management skills and the appropriate qualifications for this 100m+ yacht with 60+ crew.

It is of the utmost importance that the Chief Officer has new build experience, and understands the long hours, work pressures involved in finalising a build. It is also necessary that you are extremely good with setting up ISM/ ISPS since you will be in charge of this.

The yacht is based in the Middle East but travels worldwide. Currently she is in the final stages of the build.

For this role, you will have the following Qualifications:

Chief Mate CoC
SSO, GMDSS, ECDIS, ARPA, BRM, DP, IBS
Fast Rescue Boat or Proficiency in Survival Craft certificate
Passenger Safety Certificate, Crowd & Crisis
Advanced Fire-Fighting
Helicopter Landing Operations
STCW Basic Safety Training
Seaman’s Discharge Book, valid passport and current ENG1
International Driver’s licence

For this role, you will have the following Experience and Attributes:

5+ years seagoing experience on 80m+ yachts and which could include Passenger/Cruise ships
Experience in New Builds or refits
Superior leadership, communication, management and diplomacy skills.
Excellent boat handling and navigational skills.
Knowledge of ISM and ISPS practises, IDEA maintenance software
Excellent maintenance and technical / troubleshooting experience
Well versed in financial management
Ability to remain calm and give directions in an emergency situation
Organized and methodical
Professional appearance - no visible tattoos
Excellent tendering and the ability to coach others
Fit and healthy
Good work ethic
Previous experience with Arabic owners and guests would be advantageous as well as knowledge of the Arabian Sea
Complete English fluency is required (spoken and written).

Salary: depending on experience and qualifications
